Food lover /// Aries boy
I began DJing in 1997, spinning Hiphop and then later Drum & Bass in the Lawrence and Kansas City Area. As I became more well-known, I found himself in a unique position to change the landscape of the Lawrence night scene and launched “NEON Dance Party” in June of 2001 at the now defunct Coco Loco’s (the same location as the Jackpot). In June of 2007, I moved to Chicago leaving NEON Dance Party in the Stewardship of DJ’s Stevie Cruz and Iggy Baby, coming back every month play.
Three and a half years into my life in Chicago, I have been blessed in my career. Although, D&B, Techno and Hip-Hop beats still make their way into my sets, I generally play ass-shaking everything.
Just to name a few, I have played with:
Alexi Delano, Joc Maxx, !!!, LCD Soundsystem, Buckethead, TV On The Radio, John Digweed, Rowland the Bastard, RJD2, Approach, CSS, Carlos D (of Interpol), Orbital, Walter Meego, Beans, E.V.A.C., The Shins, Flosstradamus, Kid Cut Up, Junior Boys, Shit Robot, Mac Lethal, Common, MC Chris, Miss Kittin, Detroit Grand Pubas, Erol Alkan, Tactic, Shiny Toy Guns, Dj Roman, Matt ROAN, Kwame Jackson, Frankie Bones, Freaky Flow, DJ P, The Juan Maclean, The Slip, Popstatic, The Faint, Skillz, Dj Assault, Dan Deliverance, Beep Beep, Bald Eagle, Chromeo, Tommie Sunshine, Justice, DJ Benzi, DJ Spider, Tommy Hilfiger, Kill Memory Crash, Fred D, Why-B, OutHud, Archetype, Sasha, Bassnectar, Dj Bone, James Christian, Eastcoast Boogiemen, DJ Kiss, She Wants Revenge, Ladytron, E6, George Acosta, Roy Davis JR., n.9, Kill Hannah, Crystal Method, Norrit, Woody McBride, Chris Liberator, Macy Gray, Oteil and the Peacemakers…fuck, I know there’s more…
Outside of the music scene in my spare time, I LOVE to cook and learn about cooking.
So, the purpose of this blog is to keep you all updated on upcoming gigs, my comings and goings and my general ideas on good music, and good food.
Music and Food. What more could you ask for? Let’s get together, y’all.
